Just Because It Makes Me Laugh........

Okay, this is not in any way meant to be a political statement, I just think it's funny. So watch these clips, in the order in which I posted them, and get a much needed laugh (we all need one with the economy in the toilet the way it is because of the Repu -- I mean, um, watch these):

"Newkular" war...

Anyone else afraid???

Sunday, August 31, 2008

Don't make the little one angry, she's scary when she's angry......

She's still angry:

Going to Iraq.

This morning in church, a husband and wife went up to be prayed for by the elders. See, he is being deployed to Iraq for 6 months, leaving behind his wife and 8 month old son.

I sat there and became very angered. This man is being sent to fight in an unnecessary war started by a very small man who needed his HUGE ego fed.

Hmmm, I guess I am hostile sometimes!!

Do your research people!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So I have a new pet peeve, and no, it's not people who start their sentences with the word so.

It's e-mails that are sent out that are either: 1. Not True At All, or 2. Were Once True, Years Ago!

Why do these e-mails continue to circle the web, over and over and over and over and over.....?

Whenever I get an e-mail that I wonder about remotely, I go to snopes.com. Snopes.com is a great site to find out what's true if you don't want to put the time into doing the research yourself! Just type in the subject of your e-mail, and voila, you get the facts, without sending on to someone who will send it on to someone who will send it on to someone. I mean, 50 years from now we will still be getting the same e-mail that Barack Obama doesn't salute the flag (it was actually the National Anthem when he didn't place his hand over his heart, hmmm, I don't do that either)http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ArDGDkp5DNE, Osama Bin Laden owns Citibank, or that Dunkin Donuts employees celebrated the terrorist attacks on 9/11!

I mean, come on people, check out the facts!

New Cellular Phone law, hmmm, how dumb is this??

The new cell phone law will be in effect July 1, 2008. I fully support the law insomuch as I don't think people should be driving while holding the phone and talking on it. But why should we talk on the phone at all while driving? I mean, can't you get to Starbucks without making an important phone call? Of course, I am just as guilty of this as others, but I don't think having a Bluetooth will make a difference. You still have to dial your phone, and can by law, and you're still carrying on a converstion which is distracting no matter whether you're holding the phone or not.

But get this, and this is the most ridiculous part, it's not illegal to text and drive. Don't hold your phone and talk with one hand while driving with the other, that's too distracting, but by all means, text away. Hold it with one hand and press the letters with the other, don't forget to check your e-mail while you're at it. And oh, don't you have some important thoughts to add to your blog?? What better time than when you are just killing time driving. Wait, did I just say "killing"? Let me share the exact wording on the CA.gov website which lets you know with this new law that it's A-okay to text, as long as it does not distract you from driving your 2 ton killing machine, of course:

"Q: Does the new “hands-free” law allow drivers 18 and over to text message while driving?A: The law does not specifically prohibit that, but an officer can pull over and issue a citation to a driver of any age if, in the officer’s opinion, the driver was distracted and not operating the vehicle safely. Sending text messages while driving is unsafe at any speed and is strongly discouraged."

Well gee, at least it's strongly discouraged.......

Left Behind.......

Dear (insert name),
I TOLD YOU SO!!!

Love,
debo of suburbia

So, I heard about this website on the radio that I find very amusing. Some are disturbed by it, but for some reason, it's just hysterical to me. Maybe it's my sick mind. The website is for people to leave letters, bank info and other important information (trusts and such) to people left behind after the rapture. For a small yearly fee, people will be e-mailed the info left for them 6 days after the rapture takes place. The e-mails are sent based on a safeguard of several people they have located around the country not logging in for 3 days, then another 3 day safety net after that. Someone has come up with a good way to make money!!
http://www.youvebeenleftbehind.com/index-1.html

Don't want the Anti-Christ getting your "stuff" do you?? Better sign up quick!

Now, it's not that I don't believe in the rapture, because I do, it's just the whole idea of this site and the fact that someone is using this to play on peoples' fears to make money that I find funny. I think the thing I find most funny is the very real probability of people doing this then being among those "left behind". Boy, would they be embarrassed! They'd also have a whole lot of passwords and credit cards #'s to change now that everyone they listed would have their info. :O

Too disturbed to add to my poem...

I've heard here and there that Bush decided to attack Iraq before he was even President. Apparently this is most likely true as he saw how approval rates rose for Reagan and Bush Sr. during and after the small occupations they directed.

This was taken from CommonDreams.org,

""He was thinking about invading Iraq in 1999," said author and journalist Mickey Herskowitz. "It was on his mind. He said to me: 'One of the keys to being seen as a great leader is to be seen as a commander-in-chief.' And he said, 'My father had all this political capital built up when he drove the Iraqis out of Kuwait and he wasted it.' He said, 'If I have a chance to invade·.if I had that much capital, I'm not going to waste it. I'm going to get everything passed that I want to get passed and I'm going to have a successful presidency." Herskowitz said that Bush expressed frustration at a lifetime as an underachiever in the shadow of an accomplished father. In aggressive military action, he saw the opportunity to emerge from his father's shadow. The moment, Herskowitz said, came in the wake of the September 11 attacks. "Suddenly, he's at 91 percent in the polls, and he'd barely crawled out of the bunker."""
According to Herskowitz, George W. Bush's beliefs on Iraq were based in part on a notion dating back to the Reagan White House - ascribed in part to now-vice president Dick Cheney, Chairman of the House Republican Policy Committee under Reagan. "Start a small war. Pick a country where there is justification you can jump on, go ahead and invade." "

Maybe getting oil was his main purpose. Whatever it was, I think he thought he could make himself a big man, and saw 9-11 as his opportunity to do so. Meanwhile, 10's of thousands of innocent people have died to boost his ego. According to his recent approval ratings, the majority of American's have become wise to him though.

Interesting website to check out: http://www.thedebate.org/thede...iraq.asp

And I was hoping my blog would be funny..........

Ode to Chimpy

"Zieg Heil to the president gasman, Bombs away is your punishment"(GreenDay)

Okay, here it is, my ode to one of the top three WORST presidents in history:

"I wish that I had never seen,
A president as dumb as thee.
You came to it by hanging chad,
the error made was VERY bad.

No Child Left Behind is his brainchild
All children suffer, really gets me riled.
Literature and math is all he cares they know,
Maybe 'cause proper English has escaped him so!"

I never claimed to be a poet!!!

Reasons Bill Clinton was a Great President

President Clinton presided over the longest period of peace-time economic expansion in American history.

The unemployment rate during Clinton's Presidency, especially in the second term, were down to 3.9%, the lowest they'd been in 30 years.

When Bill Clinton became president our country had a 4.7 % GDP deficit, by the end of his second term there was a surplus of 2.4% GDP.

When Bill Clinton's presidency began, the average price of gas was $1.05/gallon. When his presidency ended, the average price of gas was $1.35/gallon.

President Clinton signed the Family and Medical Leave Act in 1993 which required employers to let their employees take unpaid leave for pregnancy, medical problems or to care for ailing family members.

Bill Clinton left office with a 65% approval rating, the highest end of office rating for any President since WWII. Ronald Reagan came in second with a very close 64%. George Bush Sr. left office with just around 40% approval. George Bush Jr., well, he's another whole Blog altogether!!

Why cats are better....

Cats smell good. If you stick your nose in their fur, it just smells good! You wouldn't want to do that with a dog, at least, I don't think it would be a good idea.
